GP Out of Hours Service

When you contact the Out of Hours Service the doctor may telephone you back or you may be offered an appointment to attend the out of hours clinic
Please do not telephone out of normal reception hours (8.00am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday) unless the problem is urgent.
The out-of-hours service operates from Warwick Hospital between 6.30pm and 8.00am each weekday, all weekend and bank holidays. This service provides medical cover for URGENT problem, not problems that could wait until normal working hours. Therefore we ask that you:-
Only call out of hours when it is really necessary - for example if there is immediate medical urgency or if the symptoms are worrying and think harm would result by waiting until the surgery is open. Please be prepared to discuss this with the doctor, who may suggest what you can do immediately to help yourself. If those who can use simple remedies for minor illnesses, that will enable doctors to deal with patients with complex health needs.
NHS Direct
NHS Direct 0845 46 47 is a 24 hour helpline which can offer medical advice for problems which you do not think require immediate discussion with the doctor.
Accident & Emergency (A&E)
The service at Warwick Hospital is there to care for you in the event of an Accident or an Emergency. If you attend the A&E department you may experience an extended waiting period due to nature of the service with more urgent cases being seen first.
